Webinar to introduce the “Peer Community in…” initiative
17 November 2020 | 11 h 00 min - 13 h 00 min
Peer Community in (PCI) is a non-profit scientific organization whose goal is to create communities of researchers in specific fields to evaluate preprints, i.e. unpublished articles deposited in open access archives such as arXiv.org, bioRxiv.org or HAL, free of charge.
Once validated by an PCI on the basis of a rigorous peer review, preprints become recognized references that can be used by scientists and cited in the scientific literature, without necessarily being published in so-called classical journals.
Stimulation, gratuity, transparency, independence and non-exclusivity are the key principles that govern PCI.
PCIs have already been created in several fields: Evolutionary biology, Archaeology, Genomics, Animal science, Forest & Wood Sciences… (see the complete list).
At a time when bibliodiversity and open science are being promoted, this innovative initiative is an avenue not to be missed. It has notably received the support of LUE and Labex ARBRE.
To discover this new publishing model, we invite you to follow the presentation webinar that will take place on Tuesday, November 17th at 11am.
