The Université de Lorraine’s publication policy is based on 3 objectives:
- Ensure that scientific publications (journals, books, conference proceedings) are open access;
- Promote a scientific publishing ecosystem that respects essential principles such as quality, transparency and governance by the scientific community;
- Encourage bibliodiversity, i.e. diversity of actors, economic models and forms of publication.
The Open Publications Operational Committee (COPO) is led by the UL Documentation Department and brings together staff from Université de Lorraine Press (Édul), Maison des Sciences sociales et des Humanités Lorraine (MSH), researchers and teacher-researchers from various disciplines. COPO proposes guidelines for the open access policy for publications on the Lorraine site to the Open Science steering committee and monitors its implementation.
